Freesia - Freesia hybrida

Freesias are one of the most popular cut flowers in the world. They were originally found in the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa and are now available worldwide, all year round, with their peak season in Spring.
Freesias are famous for their sweet, fruity fragrance and come in a huge range of colours including yellow, red, pink, purple and white. Freesias have dainty bell-shaped blooms atop very thin stems and long bladelike leaves that are usually stripped before sale. Unlike most flowers where the white varieties are the strongest smelling, pink and reds are the strongest smelling freesias.
