Alstroemeria Care Instructions

Be careful if you are transporting alstroemeria as the stem joints are brittle and easily broken.

When handling alstroemeria it’s a good idea to wear gloves as they can cause an allergic reaction in some people.

The leaves wilt before the flowers so it’s best to remove all foliage before putting alstroemeria in an arrangement.

Once you have cut the stems place them in water immediately.

Keep them cool at all times and position out of direct sunlight.

Use a preservative, as this helps the buds to open and keeps the flowers looking fresh.

Replace with fresh water and preservative everyday.

Alstroemeria are sensitive to ethylene gas so keep them away from fruit, car exhausts and cigarette smoke.
