Amaryllis Care Instructions
The flower heads are often so large that the stems cannot support them. Insert a thin stick inside the hollow stem to add support.
Buy Amaryllis when still in bud to avoid damaging them in transport.
The stalks withhold a lot of water, which means the flowers have a water supply within the stalk, allowing you to use the Amaryllis as a dry decoration for a limited period.
Once you have cut the stems place them in water immediately.
Keep them cool at all times and position out of direct sunlight.
Use a preservative, as this helps the buds to open and keeps the flowers looking fresh.
Replace with fresh water and preservative everyday.
