Lily Care Instructions
Keep lilies cool at all times.
Strip leaves from the lower half of each stem.
Use preservative as this will help the buds open and maintain fragrance.
Replace their water everyday.
Oriental and Asiatic lilies are very sensitive to ethylene gas, so keep away from fruit, vegetables, car exhausts and cigarette smoke.
Once the buds have opened remove the pollen stamens by pinching them together and pulling them out of the flower. This prolongs the life of the flower by tricking it into staying in bloom in the hope of getting fertilized.
If lilies stain use sellotape to remove the stain. Do not use water as this will only fix the stain and make it nearly impossible to remove.
Beware that lilies can be highly poisonous to cats, therefore owners should keep their pets away from them.
