Surprise those who don't expect it! Who's your everyday hero?

We’re making it easier to thank your everyday heroes.

Surprise those who don't expect it! Who's your everyday hero?

With so many moments throughout the year focused on snapping up the best deals, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush. And don’t get us wrong, we love a good bargain (it’s why our flowers are always great value!). But here at FF, we believe saving should also spark smiles.

We think every season should be about giving back, spreading kindness, and sharing joy – not just finding the lowest price. So to help make that happen, we’ve got beautiful blooms from as little as £25, making it easier than ever to show appreciation to the people who matter most.

Join us in celebrating giving back all year long, and together let’s honour the everyday heroes who make life brighter.

REASONS TO GIVEBACK THIS MONTH

Whatever the reason you want to say thank you to someone this month, and even if there’s no reason, we’re here to help with gorgeous great value blooms. Let’s spread that joy and gratitude around and start a giving back movement, let’s do this!

Because they dog sat your strange pooch · Because they saved the day at work · Because they’re just amazing ·  Because they were a party queen · Because they always do the bins · Because they make the best sandwiches in the world ·  Because why not?

Your Everyday Heroes

As part of our recent survey, we asked you to share who you consider your ‘Everyday Hero’. That’s the person who consistently demonstrates dedication, kindness, and positive impact. The stories you shared highlight the incredible people who make a difference in quiet yet powerful ways. Here’s a look at some of the inspiring examples you gave us…

Mums are the biggest unsung hero

Family members, friends, and neighbours came out on top, with mums named the biggest unsung heroes of all.

In fact, 16% of people said their mum is the person who does the most for others without ever expecting thanks, proving that the quiet acts of care, support, and love we often take for granted don’t go unnoticed after all.

Reasons include:

“My mum. She is amazing despite her own chronic health conditions. She is always busy, always cheerful, and always ready to help anyone.”

“My mum, for always persevering and working so hard. She opened up her business one month before giving birth to me and went back to work three weeks after I was born. She deserves the world.”

“My mum, she is an absolute legend! We share a very silly sense of humour and have hysterics over the smallest things sometimes. I don’t know how I would have gotten through some days without her.”

Daughters come a close second

Mums and daughters go together like tea and biscuits - the perfect pair.

Our survey shows just how strong that bond is, with 13% of people naming their daughter as their biggest unsung hero. From lending a hand, to lending an ear, daughters are often the quiet constants who hold families together.

Reasons include:

“My daughter, she has taken on the care of her little grandson and put her own life on hold.”

“My daughter, four children, studies, and is an emergency room nurse. A very busy life but still has time for her family. She rocks!”

“My daughter, she never boasts but does a lot of voluntary work.”

Husbands are shining stars

Husbands were also celebrated for their caring nature and the countless things they do for their families everyday, with 12% cited as the best unsung hero. From quiet acts of support to the big gestures that keep everything running smoothly, they’ve earned their place among the nation’s most appreciated.

Reasons include:

“My husband as he does so much despite many setbacks in his life.”

“My husband, he never complains although he has severe dermatitis and is in pain.”

“My husband, he wakes me every morning with a cup of tea and a kiss.”

Friends - Our family in disguise

We don’t always think to thank our friends - but 13% think we should do more.

They’re the light in our lives, the people who listen, lift us up, and make even the hardest days a little easier. In many ways, friends are the family we choose - our everyday heroes in disguise.

A simple bunch of flowers for our friends can say what words sometimes can’t, a thoughtful way to remind someone how much they mean to you.

Reasons include:

“A friend who is always there for everyone, including myself. She truly is a hero!”

“My friend who drove miles to visit me when I was caring for my mother.”

“A friend who went out and beyond to support me when I was recovering from surgery.”

Neighbours - The everyday heroes next door

Five percent of people said their neighbour is their biggest unsung hero, and it’s easy to see why. From rescuing DIY disasters to feeding pets, taking in parcels, and keeping an eye on things when we’re away, neighbours often step up without ever being asked.

They make our communities stronger and our lives that little bit easier. So next time they bring your bin in or save the day with a spare tool, surprise them with a bunch of ‘just because’ flowers - a simple ‘thank you’ for all the ways they quietly show they care.

Reasons include:

“My neighbour who, when I have a DIY fail, usually comes to my rescue.”

“Our neighbour who tirelessly puts out bins and watches the house.”

“My next door neighbour who takes in my recycling boxes when I’m not around, keeps an eye on my house and mows my grass when I am on holiday.”
